Synopsis: 

When Jake Thompson (Andrew Lockridge), the fifteen-year-old debate champ, finishes his closing argument to riotous applause, he searches the audience for his mother, and is promptly escorted into a squad car.
 
As Catherine Quinn (Kate Orsini), the thirty-two-year-old rising star on the French faculty at a New York college, concludes her class, she receives word that her mother is on life support in Chicago.
 
Catherine has not seen her mother in fifteen years. Jake has never met his half-sister, Catherine. Suddenly, Catherine is in charge of Jake and of her mother’s last wishes. Everything Catherine thought she knew and thought she wanted out of life is turned upside down. This is a story of how change effects growth, and how growing up is not a destination. It’s a journey.
